Indians come up short against Bigby falling 4-1

Bigby jumped out to a 2-0 lead in first before Seve Litz scored a powerplay goal set up by Colin Goff and Robbie Landis late in the first period.  The second and third period saw Bigby add one goal in each period while the Indians couldn't manage to get anything past their netminder for a final score of 4-1.  Peter Baldwin took the loss in net.  

The Indians will take on the Green Bay Bobcats Saturday at 5pm, then Sunday 10am at the Taffy Abel Arena.

Compuware tops the Indians 2-1 in the Tier 1 showcase

Saturday morning the Indians dropped a hard fought game to the Compuware Ambassadors.  The Ambassadors got on the board midway through the first period, then Jacob Nanna broke in on the right wing on pass from Brandon Vernarsky beating their goalie over the shoulder to even the score at 1-1.  both teams played even throught the second period trading chances, however it was until the 15 mark of the 3rd period that Compuware managed to score the go ahead and winning goal.  Peter Baldwin was in the pipes for the Indians turning away 28 shots.  The Indians will face Bigby Coffee Sunday morning at 9am in the final game of the weekend.

Indians fall in the Season opener 7-6 to Honeybaked

The Indians opened the 2021/22 season in Troy Michigan against Honeybaked at the Tier 1 showcase.  Honeybaked got on the board early, however Kole Altergott answered back beating their goalie off the face off to even the score.  Less than three minutes later Colin Goff got on the board from Altergott on a powerplay to put the Indians up 2-1 and 30 seconds later Goff added his second on a powerplay from Kyle Stevens for the two goal lead.  Honeybaked answered back on a powerplay of their own to get back within one goal.  Late in the second Goff scored his third of the night, short handed, for a 4-2 lead at the end of the first period.  Honeybaked didn't stop and added a goal early in the second to cut the lead, then Goff added his fourth goal of the game for the 5-3 lead and then beat the Honeybaked defenseman to the puck and set up Jacob Nanna in front of the net for a 6-3 lead, also assisted by Aedan Haapala. Honeybaked scored late in period again to send the teams into the third period with the Indians up 6-4.  The third period saw Honeybaked score three unanswered goals to secure a 7-6 win scoring with 1:18 remaining in the game to take the lead.  Peter Baldwin was in net for the Indians.  The Indians returning action Saturday morning at 11am when they play the Compuware Ambassadors.  All games are streaming on LiveBarn.

The Soo Indians will open the 2021/22 season at the MAHA Tier 1 Showcase in Troy, MI.

The Indians will open the 2021/22 season this upcoming weekend at the MAHA Tier 1 showcase in Troy Michigan.  Friday night at 8pm they will open the season against Honeybaked, then Saturday 11am they return to the ice to take on the Compuware Ambassadors, and finishing the weekend Sunday morning against Bigby Hockey.  All games are league games and will be on Livebarn.  Let the season begin Go Indians!!!
