Indians take a 5-4 win over the west Michigan hounds
West Michigan jumped out to a 3 goal lead in the first period before the Indians started to generate some offensive. At 16:33 of the second period Seiya Hayata took a nice pass at the point from Casey Gilling and ripped a slap shot past the Hounds goalie to open the scoring. West Michigan answered back with another goal to go up 4-1. At 2:31 Casey Gilling put a shot past the goalie on a nice pass from Frankie Pucci and the Indians went to the dressing room down 4-2. In the third period the boys came out flying and at the 14:27 Mike Miller put a rebound past the goalie, assists going to Nick Camarrata and Trevor Temple. Twenty six seconds later Cole Lussier took a pass from Frankie Pucci and Casey Gilling to go in on a breakaway and buried the puck past the Hounds goalie to tie the game. At the 8:10 mark Trevor Temple took an nice pass from Brian Stack and TJ Zajac to score what turned out to be the game winning goal. Brandon Gordon shut the door in net to solidify the win.
Coach Carricato stated "that this was a great character builder for the team coming back from a 3 goal deficit"
The teams play the second game of series tomorrow morning at 10 am.
