Indians drop a heartbreaker in a shoot out

Sunday mornings game started out fast with a quick pace for both teams with end to end action.  Compuware drew first blood to go ahead 1-0, but less than a minute later Tommy Holowchuk went to the net hard and banged home a rebound off a shot by Sasha Miniouchine with the other assist to Jake Smith.  Nick Skaluba threaded a shot through traffic off a pass from Zach Ahola to put the Indians ahead 2-1, Compuware came back with two goals of their own to take a 3-2 lead in the middle of the second period.  Then with 2:41 remaining in the second period and killing a penalty Brendan MacLaren stole the puck off a block shot and went in and blew a slapshot past the Ambassador netminder to tie the game at 3-3, however the Indians weren't done yet and with 1.2 seconds remaining in the second period Ethan St.Germian found the net from Skaluba and Dylan Cook to go to the dressing room up 4-3.  Compuware came out in the third and tied the game early and from that point on neither team could find the winning goal.  In the five minute 4 on 4 overtime no one could manage to end the game and it went to a shoot out, after five rounds the game was decided when the Compuware player scored.

The Indians next action will be in Detroit next weekend when they travel to Detroit to play in the Victory Honda tournament.
