Grizzlies wrestle two games from the Indians
This weekend the Indians met up with the 30th ranked Oakland Grizzilies for two MAHA Tier 1 games battling hard but fell twice by the score of 4-2. Saturday both teams battle through the first period with no score, then early in the second Jack Swan buried a shot, set up by Seth Francois to take the lead. Oakland battled back to tie the game 6 minutes later then took the lead late in the second. In the third the Grizzlies added another for a two goal lead, but with the net empty Chase Tallaire got the Indians back within one goal with 57 seconds remaining, assisted by Alex Gordon, however with the net still empty and Indians pressing Oakland manage to gain control of the puck and scored with 2 seconds remaining for the 4-2 win. Gabe Rosek stopped 40 shots in a losing effort for the Indians.
On Sunday Oakland took the early lead in the first period and added another in the second before PJ Donnelly broke the ice to the get the Indians back within one goal, assisted by Grant Wickham and Jack Swan, then midway through the third Swan scored on a shot just over the blue line to knot the score at 2 all. After that the Grizzlies scored two unanswered goals for the 4-2 win a sweep for the weekend. Logan Raffaele was between the pipes for Indians turning away 31 Oakland shots during the game.
The Indians will regroup and get back on the road next weekend to take on Fox Motors in Grand Rapids.
