Indians blank Caesars for the weekend Sweep
Saturday in the first game of the two game series of MAHA League play the Indians jumped out an early lead when Jack Mattais took a pass from Connor McAleer and went to beat the Little Caesars goaltender over his should. From that point both teams played even throughout the second period until early in the third period when Drew Miotke scored on power play to give the Indians a two goal lead. Logan Raffaele stood tall in net turning away all 25 shots sent his way to secure the win and preserve the shut out from that point on.
Sunday saw the Indians score first midway through the first period when Colin Handy's shot found it way from the point to the back of the net to put the Indians up one. In the second period the Indians added two more goals to the lead, first Colin Goff brought the puck off the wall and beat the netminder from Robbie Zimmerman and Rob Landis, then Will Boyer added to the lead on a nice one time shot over the Caesars goalie from Goff and Handy sending the Indians into the third period up 3-0. In the third Bryce Grandbois got on the board from Dylan Szabo and Ethan Lindle for the fourth and final goal of the game. Logan Raffaele turned away all shots sent his way securing the win and his second shut out of the weekend.
The Indians will return to action November 28th and 29th 5pm Saturday and 10am Sunday when they will take on Meijer AAA out of Lansing at the Taffy Able Arena.
