Indians drop a pair of games against Meijer AAA
The Indians returned home to take the highly ranked Meijer AAA out of Lansing. Saturday saw Meijer jump out to a two goal lead in the first perriod before Robbie Zimmerman scored on a pass from Eli Doughardt-Wood to get back within 1. Late in the period Meijer scored their third goal of the face off to take a 3-1 thru the first period, the second period had both teams up and down the ice trading scoring opportunities, however with 2 minutes remaining Jack Mattias found himself in front of the net scoring on a pass from Colin Goff and Doughardt-Wood to get back within 1 goal. The third period saw Meijer add two more goals to ensure the win 5-2. Logan Raffaele was between the pipes for the Indians.
Sunday Meijer came out quick scoring 20 seconds into the game, then added another on the powerplay for 2-0 lead at the end of the first period. In the second period Meijer added three more goals to go up 5 before Michael Szlag beat their netminder to break the ice on a pass from Robbie Zimmerman. That would turn out to be all the scoring as both teams played even in the final period for a score of 5-1 in favor of Meijer AAA. Lucas Henderson had the duties in the net for the Indians.
The Indians will be back on the road next Friday to take on Little Caesars in Detroit.
