Indians fall to Cleveland then tie in the Sunday rematch
Saturday nights game saw the Cleveland Barons jump out to a 4-0 lead which they carried into the third period before Colin Goff scored on a breakaway on a nice pass from Kyle Stevens midway through the period for a final score on 4-1. Peter Baldwin had the duties between the pipes for the Indians in the loss. Sunday game played out much different as the Indians jumped out to 1-0 lead on a colin Goff goal from Alex Freund for 1-0 lead throughout the first period. Freund added to the lead early in the second period set up by Brandon Vernarsky and Goff, then Freund put home his second of the game from Goff and Kyle Stevens for a 3-0 lead. The Barons fought back getting a goal midway through the second to, then Seve Litz went in on the Barons goalie alone betting him short side, however Cleveland answered back with two seconds remaining the period to send the teams into the dressing with the Indians up 4-2. The Third period saw the Indians get two power play goals scored on them with the final one with 11 seconds remaining in the period to end in a 4-4 tie. Cam LaBadie had the duties in goal for the Indians.
The Indians next action will be at home Oct 2 5pm and Sunday Oct 3 10am at the Taffy Abel Arena when they take on the Compuware Ambassadors from Detroit.
