Indians drop a pair of games against Green Bay to open the season

Saturday the Indians opened the season against the Green Bay Bobcats at the Taffy Abel Arena.  Both teams started slow trying feel each other out in the first period with neither team scoring, however in the second Green Bay found their stride scoring three unanswered goals in the second period to take the lead.  In the third the Indians got some offense going when Ethan Chambers beat their netminder on the powerplay set up by Sabre Koleber and Drew Dellies, then late in the third Evan Hogland scored on a breakaway from Scott Vanderhoff to get the Indians with in 1 goal.  Unfortunately Green Bay capitalized on a bad bounce and on the empty net to solidify the 4-2 win.  Justin Bamberger had the duties between the pipes for the Indians.

Sunday Green Bay opened up a two goal lead in the first period then added another midway through the second before Evan Hogland scored from Sabre Koleber.  Drew Dellies scored on the power play from Cael Bolton, then Scott Vanderhoff stole the puck while on a penalty kill then beat the Green Bay goalie to even the score a 3 a piece.  Green Bay came back on a power play late in the third scoring the eventual game winner with a final score of 4-3.  Cam Labadie was in net for the Indians.

Next action will be next weekend in Troy Michigan for the Tier 1 showcase where they will face the Oakland Jr Grizzilies, Little Caesars, and the Chicago Mission.
