Indians top Fox Motors 4-3 in a shootout

Sunday mornings game started with end to end action, but late in the first period, in less than 30 seconds Fox jumped out to a 2-0 lead.  The Indians didn't fold and answered back on a goal from Nolan Slachetka, assisted by Dylan Cook, to get back within one goal.  In the second period the Indians took advantage of a powerplay when Spencer Denbeste found Jeff Rahilly on the back door open for the tying goal.  That would be all of the scoring in the period and at the end of two periods the game was tied at 2 a piece.  Early in the third period Spencer Silver won the race for the puck in the Fox zone and chipped it to Zak Lasley who backhanded it between the legs of the Fox goalie for the go ahead goal.  Fox didn't quit and came back to even the score two minutes later and from that point neither team could muster the winning goal.  In the 4 on 4 overtime both teams traded scoring chances in end to end action, but the game would go to a shoot out to be decided.  In the shoot out Fox scored on their first shooter, however Aidan Curry shut the door after that and Nolan Slachetka scored to even the score in the first three shooters.  Therefore the game would decided by extra shooters and on the fourth round Spencer DenBeste beat the Fox goalie high and Curry stood tall against the Fox shooter to take the win.

The Indians now travel to Lansing next Friday and Saturday to take on Meijer AAA, with Saturday being an all important MAHA league plan in game at the Suburban Ice rink at 11am
