Indians and LFA skate to a 3-3 tie

Lake Forrest Academy opened the scoring in the first period on a broken play and bouncing puck, but 30 seconds later Spencer DenBeste beat their netminder on a wrist shot assist by Jeff Rahilly.  Later in the first period LFA regained the lead which they would carry into the second period, however midway through the second Zak Lasley scored from the slot on nice passing from Dylan Cook and Kalvin Hillock to tie it up again.  Less than a minute later Spencer Silver score for a 3-2 lead going into the third period.  In the third LFA scored midway through the period to knot the score again, both teams had several chances but could not convert and the game ended 3-3.  Jordan Lawday played outstanding in net stopping 47 shots in the game.
The Indians will face off tomorrow morning again with LFA at 9am.

DenBeste tenders with the Springfield Blues of the NAHL

Spencer DenBeste has officially signed a tender for the upcoming 2016-17 season with the Springfield Blues, Spencer in his second season with Indians has scored 46 goals, 50 assists for 96 points in 97 games.  Spencer joins a long list of players that have moved on to Junior careers from the Indians in the last 3 years.

Sundays game is decided 4-3 in a shootout

Sundays rematch proved to be a much tighter played game as both teams traded opportunities in the first period, however neither could break the ice for a lead and the period ended 0-0.  Honeybaked got on the board in the second scoring on a powerplay for the lead, the Indians answered back 44 seconds later when Spencer Silver won the draw back to Spencer DenBeste who passed over to Dylan Cook at the point for the scoring shot.  Again Honeybaked jumped back out front but Zak Lasley tied it up again on a rush up the ice on nice passing from Brendan Miller and Kalvin Hillock to end the period tied 2-2.  Early into the third period Spencer DenBeste gave the Indians a 3-2 lead on nice pass from Dylan Cook, however Honeybaked came back to even the score and send the game into overtime.  In the 5 minute 4 on 4 play both teams traded opportunities but could score and the game went to a 3 man shootout.  In the shootout it took 5 rounds before the Honeybaked player was able score for the win.  Aidan Curry played another outstanding game make several acrobatic saves to keep them off the board, however took the lose in net.
The Indians will now go on the road next weekend to take on Lake Forrest Prep Academy in Chicago.

Honeybaked takes the opening game of the weekend series 4-2

In the Indians opening game of 2017 they took on Honeybaked from Detroit, Honeybaked opened quick in the 1st period scoring two goals before Jeff Rahilly buried a shot past their netminder on a great set pass from Dylan Cook to get within one at the end of the first period.  Honeybaked regained the lead in the second period to send the teams to the dressing room with Indians down 3-1.  Early in the third they scored again to go up 4-1, however the Indians fought back to cut the lead in half after Nolan Slachetka scored on a rush.  Both teams continued to force the play however the score ended 4-2.  Aidan Curry played outstanding in net stopping 41 shots in a losing effort.  
Both teams will return to action Sunday morning at 10

Spencer DenBeste gets called up the Kenai River Brown Bears of the NAHL

Spencer DenBeste was called up to play with the Kenai River Brown Bears during their East Coast swing.  Spencer in 36 games has 19 goals and 16 assists for 35 points.
