Indians top Little Caesars 4-3 in overtime

In the final game of the road trip the Indians started slow but finished strong to take a 4-3 overtime win at the Joe Louis arena.  Caesars came out quick scoring in the first period to take a 1-0 lead through the period.  In the second period neither team could score a goal and the score remained 1-0 through two periods, In the third Brendan MacLaren took a beautiful pass from Nick Skaluba for a breakaway and buried a shot past the Caesar goalie to get with in one goal, then with 4 minutes remaining Brendan Miller scored to tie it up from Spencer DenBeste and Skaluba, however Caesars came roaring back to take the lead back again.  With the goalie out and the Indians pressing MacLaren notched his second of the game with 1 minute remaining to send the game into overtime.  In overtime the Indians had several chances then when Anthony Harris was hauled down on a breakaway it put the Indians on a powerplay and with 40 seconds remaining Ethan St.Germain got in behind their defense and Skaluba threaded a pass to him which he buried behind their goalie for the game winner, the other assist went to Denbeste.  Will Hartwick took the win in net.
Next action for the Indians will be Wednesday night in Kalkaska against the Kalkaska Rhino's of the USPHL.

Indians fall to Victory Honda 6-0

Saturday moring the Indians ran into an explosive Victory Honda team ready to even this series and did just that.  Honda opened the scoring in the first period and held that lead through the period.  In the second they added 3 more goals to go up 4-0 through two periods, then in the third added two more to solidfy the 6-0 win.  Shaun Brown took the lose in net.  The Indians will regroup for final game of the weekend Sunday morning at the Joe Louis arena against Little Caesars.

Soo Indians Alumni Scores First Collegiate Goal

Soo Indians AAA Alumni, Denver Pierce, scored his first collegiate goal Friday, October 23. Denver is a power forward for Northern Michigan University Wildcats. Denver scored the third goal of the game at 10:13 of the second Period. The Wildcats beat the Michigan Tech Huskies 4-1 at a sold out game at the Berry Events Center. Congratulations Denver! Indians top Honeybaked 3-2

 

In the first game of the 3 game road trip the Indians came away victorious over Honeybaked 3-2.  The Indians opened the scoring in the first period when Brendan Miller scored on a wrap around play with the assist going to Tiger Weber, then Spencer Denbeste scored on a powerplay tipping as shot from the point by Nick Skaluba to go up by 2.  Honeybaked battled back to get with one late in the second period and both teams went to the dressing at the end of the second with the Indians up 2-1.  Late in the Third Honeybaked managed to stuff a puck in on a powerplay to knot the score, the Indians didn't stop and two minutes later Denbeste score his second and winning goal of the night at the 4 minute mark.  From that point on Will Hartwick shut the door in net to preserve a 3-2 win in the net.
The Indians continue their road trip tomorrow morning in Canton at the Artic Edge arena where they face off against Victory Honda at 11 am
