Caesars tops the Indians 5-1 in the semi final game of the Compuware/Honeybaked Invitational

In the semi final game of the Compuware/Honeybaked Invitational tournament the Indians ran into penalty trouble earlier in the first period and Little Caeasars converted on two powerplays to take a two nothing lead at the end of the first period.  Both teams played even through the second period to end two periods with the Indians still down by two.  Early into the third Caesars again found a lose puck in front of the net and made the score 3-0, then added two more before Brenden MacLaren found the net on a powerplay from Anthony Harris and Nick Skaluba.  Will Hartwick stopped 38 shots in a losing effort.
The Indians now return home for 2 games against the Green Bay Gamblers Saturday 7pm at the Taffey Abel and Sunday 10 am at the Pullar Staduim

Indians drive away with a Victory

In the fourth game of the tournament the Indians topped Victory Honda 3-2.  Victory Honda opened the scoring on powerplay early in the first period.  The Indians bounced back when Brenden MacLaren scored from Dylan Cook and Spencer DenBeste, then one minute later MacLaren scored again from DenBeste and Aaron Shahin.  Late in the second period Shahin banged home a rebound to get the third goal with assists going to Tiger Weber and Justin Hendrickson.  Victory Honda scored late in the 2nd period to get within one goal to end the second period with the Indians up 3-2.  Will Hartwick shut the door in third period to take the win in net.
The Indians now advance to the semi finals tomorrow morning at the Novi rink at 1040 against Little Caesars.

Indians fall to Michigan Hockey Advancement 5-0

In the third game of the Compuware/Honeybaked Invitational tournament the Indians faced of against the Michigan Hockey Advancement and came out flat in the first two periods.  Michigan jumped out to 1-0 lead in the first period and then added four more in the second to solidify a 5-0 lead at the end of two periods.  In the third the Indians did finds some legs and put 17 shots on the Michigan netminder, however nothing behind him losing 5-0.  The Indians will now face Victory Honda at 8 pm to determine if they will play on Sunday in the semi-finals.

Indians top the Chicago Young Americans 5-4

The Indians fought for a tough win in the second game of the Compuware/Honeybaked Classic.  Jake Smith opened the scoring banging home a rebound assisted by Ethan St.Germain and Brenden MacLaren.  Chicago came back to tie and take a one goal lead in the second period, however Zach Ahola found the net to tie it up from Nick Skaluba and St.Germain.  Brenden Miller gave the Indians a one goal lead late in the second period from Anthony Harris to end the second with the Indians up 3-2.  Then while killing a penalty Jonathon Bostwick buried a shot behind the Young Americans after Zach Ahola had worked the puck out from the corner to put the Indians up by two.  Chicago was not going to go away and found the net twice in the third to knot the score at 4 a piece, however with 3 minutes remaining Spencer DenBeste banged home a puck in front from MacLaren and Skaluba to take back the lead again.  The Indians maintained the lead and preserved the 5-4 win.
The Indians will be back in action tomorrow at 145 against Michigan Hockey Advancement.

Indians open with a 3-3 tie against the Minnesota Magicians

In the opening game of the Compuware/Honeybaked Classic the Indians opened with a 3-3 tie.  In the first period Aaron Shahin tipped a nice shot from the point by Justin Hendrickson with the other assist going to Dylan Cook to put the Indians up one.  In the early stages of the second period Minnesota scored on a powerplay to even the score.  Brenden MacLaren put the Indians back in the lead from Nick Skaluba and with time running down on the clock in the second Brendan Miller tipped a shot by Ethan St.Germain to send the teams to the dressing room with Indians up three to one.  In the third Minnesota scored again on another powerplay to get within one and with 25 seconds remaining and the extra attacker on Minnesota scored to even the score at 3-3.  Will Hartwick took the tie in net stopping 25 shots.
The Indians will be back in action tonight at 745 against the Chicago Young Americans.
