Indians complete the sweep of Team Copper Country 5-1

 In the Sunday rematch the Indians got on the board early with a goal by Brenden MacLaren from Brendan Miller and Ethan St.Germain on a powerplay.  Zach Ahola found the twine minutes later from Jonathon Bostwick and Jake Smith got third of the game after a nice set up by Ahola.  Team Copper Country got on the board in the second period to get within two, however the 2nd period ended with the Indians up 3-1.  Tiger Weber opened the scoring in the third with a shot from the side assisted by Kalvin Hilock, then Hillock scored one of his own to make it 5-1 assisted by St.Germain.  Shaun Brown took the win in the pipes.

The will now travel to Detroit to play in the Compuware/Honeybaked Invitational tournament.

Indians top Team Copper Country 6-3

In the third game of the weekend road trip the Indians faced off against the Team Copper Country.  Team Copper Country drew first blood to take a 1-0 lead half way through the first period, but Nick Skaluba answered right back on a shot from the point assisted by Brenden MacLaren and Ethan St.Germain.  Team Copper Country scored to take the lead again late in the period to end with a 2-1 score after 1 period.  Early in the second Brendan Miller won a battle in front of the net and punched home the tying goal, assists going to DenBeste and MacLaren, Team Copper Country took the lead again briefly until Spencer DenBeste scored on a powerplay from MacLaren and Miller.  Both teams went to the dressing for the resurface tied 3-3.  In the third period the Indians came determined to get the win and put together a good period, DenBeste scored his second of the game from St.Germain to put the Indians up one and two minutes later Zach Ahola tipped a shot past their netwminder assist from Jonaton Bostwick to go up two.  Then late in the period DenBeste scored his third for the Hatrick form Miller and Maclaren to solidfy the win.  Will Hartwick  took the win in net.
Both teams return to action tomorrow morning at 11 am.

Indians tie two games on the road against the Green Bay Gamblers

In the Friday night game the Gamblers jumped out to an early lead with quick goal, however the Indians answer back with two goals of their own in the first period.  Brenden MacLaren tied the game up on a shot with an assist going to Spencer DenBeste, then a minute later Jonathon Bostwick put the Indians up by one assisted by Nick Skaluba and Zach Ahola.  In the second period the Indians continued to put pressure on the Gambler goalie and Brendan Miller tipped a shot by MacLaren with the other assist by DenBeste.  Kalvin Hillock put a shot behind the netminder to go up two from Tiger Weber and Ethan St.Germain.  Drew Goupille finished the second period scoring from DenBeste to send the teams to the dressing room after two periods with the Indians up 5-1.  In the third period Green Bay had 4 unanswered goals to gain a 5-5 tie.  Will Hartwick stopped 19 shots between the pipes for the Indians.
On Saturday morning Green Bay opened the scoring on the first shift of the game to take the lead 1-0.  MacLaren scored midway threw the period to get back tied from Skaluba and Miller,  Anthony Harris scored on a shot from the point to put the Indians up one from Bostwick and Ahola.  Green Bay answered back with a goal to tie it back up.  In the third Green Bay punched one home for the lead again and then Ethan St.Germain scored from Skaluba and Weber for the Indians 3rd goal.  Neither team could score anything and the game ended with a 3-3 score.  Shaun Brown had 19 saves in the net for the tie.
In are now traveling to Houghton for two games against Team Copper Country at 8pm tonight and 11am Sunday.

Indians and Meijer AAA battle to a 2-2 tie

In the Sunday rematch the Indians came out ready to play and mounted an early attack on the Meijer goalie, however could buy a goal.  At the 3:19 mark of the first period the Indians were assessed a 5 minute major penalty and successfully killed it off and both teams ended the first period knotted 0-0.  In the second period period Brendan MacLaren found the twine on a breakaway on nice pace from Ethan St.Germain to put the Indians up 1-0, then late in the second MacLaren notched his second of game from St.Germain and Nick Skaluba to send the teams to the dressing room at the end of two periods with the Indians up 2-0.  In the third period Meijer broke the ice to get within one and with two minutes remaining tied the score and the game ended 2-2.  Shaun Brown stopped 17 shots to preserve the tie.
The Indians with travel to Green Bay Wisconsin next Friday and Saturday, then travel to Houghton Michigan for two games on Saturday night and Sunday morning for a 4 game road trip.

Indians fall to Meijer(Lansing) 3-1 in the first game of the weekend series

In the opening game of the weekend series Meijer(Lansing) opened the scoring at the 11:46 mark of the first period that they carried into the second.  Meijer added to their lead 5 minutes into the second period to jump out to a 2-0 lead, however the Indians answered back late in the period on a powerplay goal by Spencer DenBeste from Brendan Miller and Nick Skaluba.  The teams ended the second period 2-1.  In the third Meijer struck again for a 3-1 lead that they preserved for the win, the Indians pressed hard putting 31 shots on the Meijer net, however couldn't get on by.  Will Hartwick stopped 25 shots in a losing effort for the Indians.
Both teams will be back in action at 11 am Sunday at the LSSU arena.
