Indians and Team Copper Country tie 3-3 in the Sunday rematch

In the Sunday rematch the Indians opened the scoring the first period on an unassisted goal by Brenden MacLaren, however Team Copper Country answered back late in the first period.  In the second Team Copper Country jumped out to a 2-1 and took that to the dressing room at end of two periods, the third saw Indians come and tie the game early when Jacob Smith scored unassisted on shot from the side of the net.  At the 7 minute mark Spencer Denbeste took a nice pass from Brenden MacLaren and Brendan Miller to put the Indians up one.  Team Copper Country fought back to tie the game one minute later and scored ended 3-3.  Shaun Brown took the tie in net stopping 25 shots.
The Indians return to action next weekend at home when they take on the Soo Thunderbirds Friday night at 7pm, they Saturday night face the Lansing Capitals (Meijers) at 7pm and Sunday morning at 10am.  All games will be played at the LSSU arena.

Indians open the season with a 2-1 win over Team Copper Country

The Soo Indians opened the 2015-16 season with a win over Team Copper Country 2-1.  The Indians opened the scoring in the first period on a shorthanded shot from the point from Justin Hendrickson assisted by Tiger Weber while killing a penalty at the 2:07 mark of the period.  Neither team could get anything past either goalie in the second period and the teams went to the dressing with the Indians up 1-0.  In the third Aaron Shahin punched one past the Copper Country netminder at the 9:11 mark from Griffen Medina and Kalvin Hillock to go up 2-0.  Copper Country broke the ice to get back within one at 14:58, however Will Hartwick shut the door to preserve a 2-1 win in the net.  Both teams return to action Sunday morning 10:00 am at LSSU.

MacLaren gets invite to the Soo Greyhounds main OHL camp

Brenden MacLaren has been invited to the Soo Greyhounds main camp, of the Ontario Hockey League.  MacLaren a Sault Ste. Marie Michigan native has played two seasons with the Soo Indains.  Last season MacLaren scored 28 goals and 23 assists for 51 points in 59 games.

2015 - 16 Soo Indians Roster Posted in Roster Link

The Soo Indians are pleased to announce the 2015-16 roster has been solidified.  The 2015-16 season is will be starting in September with the players to report August 30, 2015.  The coaching staff is excited about the upcoming team and season.  Click on the roster link to view this season's team.  More information will be forthcoming regarding players and schedules.

Congratulations to Brandon Gordon on signing with the Soo Thunderbirds of the NOJHL

Brandon Gordon has signed with the reigning NOJHL champion Soo Thunderbirds.  Brandon spent to two seasons with the Indians compiling a record of 33 wins 21 loses and 4 ties carrying a 2.1 goal against average along with a 91% save percentage.
