Indians take a 2-1 win over the Cleveland Barons
In the first game of the weekend series in Cleveland the Indians came away with a 2-1 rode win. Both teams felt themselves out in the first period and skated to a 0-0 tie in the first period. In the second period the Indians broke the ice when Evan Augustine buried a one time shot from the slot on a pass from Alex Williams to take the lead. With 33 seconds remaining in the period Chris Hazen out worked the Barons defenseman and put the puck in the net assisted by Brendan Miller and Mike Miller and the teams went to the dressing room with Indians up 2-0. In the third both teams had their chances but couldn't score. At the 12:12 a scrum broke out in the Indians crease and started a fight, after the dust cleared the Indians Goalie Brandon Gordon and the Barons player were ejected from the game. CJ Boothe came on to replace Gordon and made some spectacular saves but at the 3:00 minute mark the Barons finally got one by him. After that Boothe closed the door and the Indians took the rode win 2-1. Gordon and Boothe played outstanding in net.
Both teams square off tomorrow morning for the rematch at 10am at the Barons arena.
