Indians come up short agains Fox Motors

Saturdays opening game saw the Indians jump out to an early lead in the first period against Fox Motors.  Bren Lyons scored on a breakaway after a pass from Travis Blackhust set him free in on the Fox netminder, less than 20 seconds later Jason Kasper jumped on a rebound from a shot by Drayke Micolo to put the Indians up by two. They Indians battled hard for the remainder of the first period and through the second until late in the third when Fox Motors finally got on the board.  The Indians took a 2-1 lead into the dressing room through two periods.  In the third the Indians couldn’t generate any offense and Fox came back with three unanswered goals to take a 4-2 win.  Dmitri Kochan was in net for the Indians.
Sundays game started much different as Fox got on the board with three goals early in the first period to take the lead, in the second the Indians fought back to get within two goals when Travis Blackhust took a pass from Drayke Micolo to make a rush up the ice and put a shot over the netminder.  Midway through the third Cam Parrot beat the netminder from the slot on a nice pass from Bren Lyons on the power play to get the Indians within one goal.  Fox battled back to regain a two goal lead again.  The Indians pulled their goalie and put a push, Garth Wickham found himself in front of the open net and made no mistake scoring to get the Indians back within one, Jeff Rahilly and Colton Hayes assisted on the goals.  With 1:50 remaining the Indians continued to apply the pressure looking for the tying goal but as luck would have it they couldn’t buy one falling 4-3.  Dmitri Kochan started in the net before Alex Rairigh came on in the second period.  The Indians will travel to Detroit next weekend to Play Belle Tire and Honeybaked in MAHA action.
