Indians split on the road in Illinois

This weekends travels took the team to Lake Forrest Illinois to play the LFA Prep team on their campus. Saturday the Indians started slow and as LFA jumped out to a 3 goal lead midway through the second period before the Indians began to fight their way back. Garth Wickham broke the ice, scoring from the slot, assisted by Colton Hayes and Jeff Rahilly, then less than one minute later Steven Cope score from Bren Lyons and Drayke Micolo to pull back within one goal. Then Cam Parrott scored his nineth of the year on a power play from Cope and Chase Tallaire to even the score. Late in the second Wickham got his second of the game from Hayes to take the lead and in the final minutes of the third Rahilly scored on an empty net to close out the game on a pass from Cope securing the 5-3 win. Alex Rairigh was in between pipes, taking the win.
In the Sunday rematch LFA again scored first in what turned out to a penalty filled game, this time the Indians couldn’t come back and fell 0-3 to LFA. Dmitri Kockan was in net for the Indians.
This Indians will be home this upcoming weekend to play Compuware Saturday 5pm and Sunday 10am, both games and the Taffey Abel Arena.
