Indians open the season going 1 win, 2 ties, and a loss at the Motor City Cup

The Indians opened the season with a 1-0 win over Team Ohio on Friday night, Saturday mornings game pitted them against the Junior Fuel.  The Fuel opened the score early and added another late in the period to take a 2-0 lead before the Colton Hayes broke the ice, from Haydan Daca and Chase Tallaire to get back within one goal.  Late in the second Tallaire added a goal of his own from Adam Brzezicki and Griffin Hernalsteen to tie the game, which ended 2-2.  Gabe Rosek played excellent in the net for the Indians.  The second game on Saturday was against the Indiana Prospects and this time Luke Parry got the tribe on the board first midway through the period assisted by Griffin Hernalsteen.  The Indians held the lead until late in the final period when Indiana scored to even it up.  Dakota Meyer stood tall in the net to preserve a 1-1 score.  The final game of the Motor City Cup was against the MDHL White team and the Indians got caught early in the game allowing them to score 3 goals.  From that point on the teams played even, but the Indians couldn’t scored dropping the game 3-0.  Gabe Rosek was in net for the Indians.

The Indians return home and have a weekend off before the Compuware Ambassadors come to town on September 22 at 6pm and Sunday the 23rd at 10am.  Both games will be played at the Taffy Abel Arena on the Campus of LSSU.
