Indians open the weekend with a 2-1 win over Thunder Bay
The Indians opened 2020 on a positive note doubling up on Thunder Bay 2-1. In the first period both teams were feeling each other out and getting back in game shape after the Christmas break, however in the second Grant Wickham broke in alone on the Kings netminder to open the scoring on a nice set up by Chase Tallaire and PJ Donnelly. Thunder Bay responded midway through the period to knot the game up on a rebound to send both teams to the dressing room tied at 1 through two periods. In the third period Kyle Portlock picked up the puck at center ice, then cut to the middle in the Kings zone firing a shot over their netminder for what would be the game winning goal. Logan Raffaele turned away 37 shots playing outstanding to take the win in net 2-1.
The Indians will face the Kings tomorrow morning 930am at the Taffy Abel arena, then take on Honeybaked Saturday night 430 at the Pullar, then a rematch with Honeybaked Sunday morning 10am at LSSU.
