Indians go 1 and 2 on the weekend in Detroit
Last Friday the Indians headed to Detroit for 3 league games, two against Victory Honday and 1 facing Compuware. Friday night Victory Honda opened up in the first period showing why they are the #10 ranked team in the country scoring two goals in the first and 4 more in the second. In the third Zach Sweitzer got the Indians on board scoring from Brayden Grange, from that point on both teams played even the remainder of the game for a 6-1 final. Justin Bamberger was in net for the Indians.
Saturday in the rematch it was Honda scoring first again in the first, then neither team could score in the second sending the game into the third with a 1-0 score. In the third Victory Honda found the net midway through the period for a 3 goal lead before Evan Hoglund scored from Jarret Crimin and Treyce Moran. After that Honda scored on an empty net for a final score of 4-1. Cam Labadie played strong in net for the Indians in a loosing effort.
Sunday, the final game of the weekend matched the Indians up with the Compuware Ambassadors. Neither team got on the score sheet through the first half of the game, then Dominic Cicco beat their netminder from Treyce Moran to give the lead and two minutes later Sabre Koleber found the net on rebound from Luke Jimenez to the give the Indians a 2-0 lead heading into the third period. Compuware fought back in the third to even the score at 2 as regulation time expired. In the 5 minute 4 on 4 OT the game would still not be decided sending it to a shoot out. In the shoot out it was until the last of the third round that Sabre Koleber beat the Ambassadors goaltender on a backhand giving the Indians the 3-2 win.
Next action for the Indians will this upcoming weekend as they take on Fox Motors at home. Saturday 430 at the Pullar Staduim and 10am Sunday at the Taffy Abel Arena.
