Indians top Compuware 5-1

In the first of two MAHA league play in games  both teams came out in the first period and seems be feeling each other out, however at the 7:36 mark in the first period Zach Ahola made a nice backhand pass to a wide open Brenden MacLaren for the Indians first goal and the 1-0 lead, Anthony Harris also assisted on the goal.  Compuware came back to tie the game early in the second period, but Sasha Miniouchine put a backhand shot over the Ambassodores goaltender for the lead again, assisted by Tommy Holowchuk and Jake Smith.  In the third the Indians put on more pressure with MacLaren scoring his second of the night from Ethan St.Germain for 3-1 lead, then Holowchuk scored from Smith and finally MacLaren finished for his Hatrick into the open net for the 5-1 win.  Will Hartwick played excellent stopping 27 of the 28 shots he faced.

Both teams return to action Sunday morning 10am at the Pullar Staduim.

Richmond Hill downs the Indians 2-0

in a must win game for the Indians to advance the cards just didn't fall their way as Richmond Hill scored two and the Indians couldn't get one by their goaltender.  Richmond Hill scored in the first and third period and the Indians had several chances but couldn't get the bounce they needed, Will Hartwick was in the net for the Indians.

The return home next weekend to take on the Compuware Ambassadors Saturday night at the Taffy Abel Arena and Sunday morning at the Pullar Staduim.

Indians down the North Central Predators 6-1

Saturday mornings game saw the Indians come out hard but ended up down 1 goal at the end of the first period, but from that point on they took advantage of their chance in the second period.  First Ethan St.Germain banged home a lose puck with assist to Spencer DenBeste and Brenden MacLaren, then MacLaren scored unassisted to give the Indians a 2-1 lead at the end of two.  In the third the Indians scored early as DenBeste got a lose puck from MacLaren to go up two goals, then Brendan Miller scored from Nick Skaluba and Jonathon Bostwick.  DenBeste scored his second of the game from Skaluba and Miller, Jake Smith finished the scoring for the Indian with 1.7 seconds remaining form Tommy Holowchuk.  Shaun Brown took the win in net for the Indians.

Next game for the Indians will be at 8pm tonight against the Richmond Hill Coyotes.

Indians skate to a 1-1 tie with Tampa Bay

The Indians got to a better start tonight got on the scored board early with a goal by Brendan Miller from Zach Ahola and Jonanthon Bostwick for 1-0 in the first period.  In the second period Tampa Bay capitalized on a turn over and even the scored.  Both teams exchanged good scoring chances in the third, however neither team could get the winner and the game ended 1-1.  Will Hartwick was between the pipes for the Indians.

The Indians will now take on the North Central Predators tomorrow at 11am.

Indians fall to Shattuck St. Mary's 3-0

In the opening game of the Silver Stick tournament in Sarnia Ontrario the Indians faced off against Shattuck St.Mary's and found themselves on the losing end of a 3-0 score.  Shattuck scored a powerplay goal in the first period the another with 5 seconds remaining in the second period for 2-0 score at the end of 2.  In the third the closed out the scoring in the third period with a shorthanded goal.  Shaun Brown was in net in a losing effort.  The Indians will try and get back on the winnings way tonight when they take on the Tampa Bay Scorpions at 5pm
