Indians home opener on Saturday September 13, 4pm at the Pullar stadium

The Soo Indians AAA will be playing their home opener of the 2014-2015 season as preliminary game of the Soo Eagles on September 13th against the Michigan Warriors from Flint Michigan at 4pm at the Pullar Staduim. Tickets will be $5 to enter, these tickets will also be good to watch the Soo Eagles face the Janesville Jets at 7pm. Come out and watch the future players of the Jr A and college ranks in action.

Minnesota Blades defeated the Soo Indians 4-1 in the quarterfinal game

In a game of continuous up and down action along with outstanding goaltending in both ends Minnesota came out on top. In the first half Minnesota came away with a 3-0 lead on two power play goals. The Indians had several opportunities but could get one by the Blades goaltender. At the 2:05 mark of the second half Brenden MacLaren broke the shutout on a pass from Ethan St.Germain and Aston Calder, however Minnesota capitalized and scored their fourth goal with one minute left. CJ Boothe played outstanding in a loosing effort for the Indians.

Overall it was a positive weekend for the Indians and continually improved throughout the weekend, coach Pat Caricatto was pleased the effort of the entire team as they finished the weekend with 2 wins and 2 loses.

The Indians return home next Saturday night at 5pm at the Pullar Stadium prior to the Soo Eagles game against the Michigan Warriors, then Sunday morning at 10am at the Taffy Abel arena.

Indians down Rochester AAA 5-1

In the the third game of the tournament the Indians started out behind again but came back quickly to tie the game up 1-1 on an unassisted goal by M. Miller. After that they continued to apply pressure and at 8:22 mark Brenden MacLaren scored assisted by Cole Lussier and John Pesek to take the lead. Chris Hazen finished out the scoring in the first half assisted by Drew Goupille and the teams went into the dressing room with the Indians up 3-1. In the second half the Indians continued to mount more pressure until the 6:22 mark when Maclaren scored his second of the game on power play assisted by Cole Lussier and Aston Calder. M. Miller scored his second of the game to finish out scoring assisted by Josh Delaney and Ethan St.Germain. Final score 5-1 Indians, Brandon Gordon played excellent in net to take the win. Next game will be at 7pm versus the winner of Honeybaked and the Minnesota Blades.

Indians fall to the Esmark Stars 4-2

Esmarks jumped out to 1-0 lead early in game, however Zach Satalino tied the game two minutes later with assists going Alex Williams and Chris Hazen. Esmark scored two more goals to end the first half and go into the locker room up 3-1. In the second Esmark scored early again to take a 4-1 lead until Zach Satalino scored his second of the game from Nick Skaluba and Alex Williams. The Indians put continuos pressure on the stars but couldn't get anything to go in the net. CJ Boothe played excellent in the net for Indians. Next game for the Indians will be Saturday at 1200 against the Rochester AAA

Indians start the season with a 5-3 win over Lake Forest Prep Academy

In first period the Indians started out slow allowing Lake Forest to jump out to a 2-0 lead on powerplay goals. Both teams played even until the late in the period when Lake Forest scored to take a 3-0 lead into the dressing room at the half. In the second half the Indians came out determined to change the game and at the 4 minute mark Kristian Jackson stepped over the blue line and put a shot past the LFA goalie to open the scoring. One minute later Cole Lussier took a pass from Ashton Calder and John Pesek to bring the game within 1, seven minutes after Zach Satalino evened the game on a pass from Ethan St.Germain. Exactly two minutes later Aston Calder scored what turned out to be the winning goal, assisted by Brenden MacLaren. With three minutes remaining Ethan St.Germain scored a shorthanded goal to solidify the win for the Indians, Pesek assisted on the goal. Brandon Gordon played outstanding in the net to take the win. The Indians will face off against the Esmark Stars today at 3pm.
