Little Caesars doubles up on the Indians 4-2

Sunday morning the Indians matched up against Little Caesar on the road at the Belfor Arena in MAHA action.  Caesars opened the scoring in the first period to take the lead, then added two more for a 3-0 lead.  Kevin Bostwick got the Indians back on track with a goal on shot from the point, with assist going to Kevin Smith and Rob Landis, however Caesars answered back to regain the 3 goal lead.  The Indians didn't quit tho as Chase Tallaire scored from PJ Donnelly to cut the lead again in the third period, that was all they could managed to score and fell by a score of 4-2.  Gabe Rosek stood tall in the net for the Indians.  

Next action for the Indians will be on Wednesday February 19th, 730pm at the Big Bear Arena when they take on the Soo Thunderbirds AAA team from Sault Ontario.

Indians Goaltenders receive accolades at the Sarnia Silver Sticks Tournament

Upon returning from the Sarnia Silver Sticks tournament the Indians were informed that both goaltenders were selected by a committee of 25 scouts, Gabe Rosek and Logan Raffaele were selected for the tournament All Star team.  Congratulations both for their hard work.  Picture with Gabe and Logan is the Soo Indians goalie coach Terry Barbeau.

Indians go 1 and 2 on the road in Windsor and Detroit

The Indians traveled to Windsor Ontario to take on the A21 Academy for two exhibition games, Friday night the Indian took home a 3-2 win over A21.  Max Povorozniouk, Tommy Cahill, and PJ Donnelly all scored for the Indians to take home the win.  Gabe Rosek took the win in net.  On Saturday Morning the Indians ran into a hot goaltender and were unable to score falling 2-0 with an open net goal, Logan Raffaele was in the net.  Saturday night the Indians traveled back across the border to play the Oakland Grizzilies, taking a 6-0 loss in MAHA action.  The Indians next action will be Sunday February 9th against Little Caesars in Detroit.

Indians fall twice in Lansing to Meijer AAA

This weekend the Indians travelled to Lansing to take on the 14th ranked Meijer AAA in MAHA league action. Battling a short bench due to injuries the Indians skated even through the first half of the game until Meijer opened the scoring to take the lead then added another before Max Povoronzuik scored on tipped shot from Dylan Bott to get back with in one.  That however would be all the offense the Indians could muster and Meijer added three more goals to secure a 5-1 win.  Logan Raffaele was in net for the Indians.

On Sunday it was the Indians who took the early lead on a goal by Jaden Martin from Robbie Landis and Chase Tallaire, but Meijer fought back scoring 5 unanswered goals for another 5-1 win.  Gabe Rosek had the duties between the pipes for the Indians.

This coming weekend the Indians will travel to Windsor Ontario to play A21 Academy on Friday night, Saturday morning before returning to Detriot to play the Oakland Grizzilies on Saturday night.

Indians fall in triple overtime to Waterloo in the Silversticks semi finals

Thursday night the Indians opened the Silver Sticks tournament in Sarnia Ontario against the Waterloo Wolves and ended up battling to a 2-2 tie. Max Povoronoznuik scored the opening goal for the Indians from Seth Francois and Jaden Martin, then Chase Tallaire added to the lead from PJ Donnelly and Grant Wickham for a 2-0 lead heading into the third period.  In the Third Waterloo fought back getting two goals to even the score for a 2 all tie.  Gabe Rosek played excellent in the net for the Indians.  On Friday the game played out much the same as the Indians tied the London Knights 2-2, this time the Indians had to come from behind after falling behind by two early.  Jaden Martin scored from Chase Tallaire and PJ Donnelly and Cain Grosbeck evened the score from Robbie Landis, after that neither team could get the winner and the game again ended in a 2 all tie.  Logan Raffaele was outstanding for the Indians in net.  Saturdays first game matched the Indians against the Ontario Hockey Academy from Cornwall Ontario, early in the game Kevin Bostwick scored on a power play from Chase Tallaire and PJ Donnelly, however OHA added three unanswered goals in the second to jump on to the lead.  Tallaire added a goal of his own get one closer from Max Povoronzuik and Jaden Martin, however that was all they could muster and fell by a score of 5-2.  Gabe Rosek was between the pipes for the Indians.  Saturdays second match up put the Indians up against Blyth Hockey Academy and this game the Indians found their scoring tough putting up six goals, first Tommy Cahill scored from Cain Grosbeck and Kevin Smith, Grosbeck scored from Kevin Bostwick and Cahill.  Grant Wickham continued the scoring in the second period assisted by PJ Donnelly and Chase Tallaire, then Donnelly scored from Wickham and Tallaire to secure a 4 goal lead heading into the third period.  In the final period Grosbeck scored his second of the game from Smith and Nick Castillo, the final goal was scored by Jaden Martin, assisted by Tallaire and Bostwick to secure the 6-0 win.  Logan Raffaele earned the win and shutout in net for the Indians.  In the semi final game the Indians had a rematch with the Waterloo Wolves and turned to be much the same as the first meeting, Nick Castillo scored in the first period from PJ Donnelly and Grant Wickham.  In the second Waterloo tied the game up and went ahead by one before Chase Tallaire scored from Kevin Bostwick and Donnelly to knot the game at 2 a piece.  The third saw both teams trade chances but both goaltenders turned them away and at the end of regulation it was 2-2.  Overtime proved to be exciting as the format was three on three which lasted into the third overtime before the Wolves player beat the Indians defender and went in to score in the six period for the win.  Gabe Rosek played outstanding in net.

The Indians will get back on the road next Saturday when they travel to Lansing to play Meijer AAA in MAHA action.
