Indians down the U18 Loons 3-2

Saturday saw the Indians take to the ice against the Minnesota Loons U18 team at Fogarty Arena.  Throughout the first period the Indians pushed towards the Loons net creating a lot of opportunities, however couldn’t score leaving both teams tied at 0-0 in the first period.  The Loons broke the ice in the second period on a power play to take the early lead, but Tommy Cahill came right back beating their netminder over the shoulder from Kevin Bostwick and Cain Grosbeck to get the Indians back to even.  Shortly after the tying goal Jack Swan won the Battle for a puck in front of their net set up by Grant Wickham to put the in Indians up by one goal, then Chase Tallaire beat the Loons netminder low for the third goal of the night from Dylan Bott.  Minnesota didn’t quit and fought back within one goal, but from that point on Logan Raffaele shut to the door to preserve the win in net.

The Indians with face the Minnesota Magicians U18 team tomorrow 3:00pm CDT at the Schwann Superrink for the final game of the NAPHL Showcase.  All games are televised on Hockey TV.

Indians fall in the second game of the showcase to Shattuck St. Marys 3-1

The Indians jumped out to a one goal lead late in the first period when Max Povorozniouk found a loose puck in front of the net during a scramble to put the Indians on the Board.  The Indians held the lead through two periods and had several chances to increase it but couldn’t convert.  In the third period Shattuck got on the board on a shot from the point through traffic to tie the game, then added another to go ahead, then a third to secure the win.  Gabe Rosek stopped 32 of 35 shots in the net for the Indians and made several outstanding saves.

The Indians return to the ice on Saturday 1pm at Fogarty arena against the Loons U18 from Minnesota.

Indians top the Northeast Generals 2-0

The Indians opened the NAPHL showcase in Blaine Minnesota against the Northeast Generals.  The open period saw both teams play to a 0-0 tie, however in the second the Indians got on the board when Nick Castillo scored from the point set up by Grant Wickham and Cain Grosbeck.  Late in the second period they added to their lead when Jaden Martin took a cross pass from Kobie Guidebeck and beat the Generals netminder from the slot to go up 2, Kevin Bostwick had the other assist on the goal.  The third period didn’t generate any scoring for either team and Indians secured to 2-0 win.  Logan Raffaele earned the shut out in net.

The Indians will face off Friday morning against Shattuck St. Marys U18, 730 am at the Shawn’s Superink.

Indians fall in their home opener to Compuware

Indians home opener started with Grant Wickham stealing a cross ice pass to go in on breakaway beating the Compuware netminder for the early lead, the Ambassors came right back to even the score less than a minute later and then added one more goal in the first period for a 2-1 lead.  In the second Compuware accounted for 2 more unanswered goals and one in the third before Logan Millhausen scored on power play from Kevin Bostwick.  The Ambassadors rounded out the scoring late in the third for the 6-2 win.  Gabe Rosek turned away thirty five shots in a losing effort for the tribe.

The Indians will return to action next Thursday in Blaine Minnesota at the NAHL/NAPHL showcase against the U18 Northeast Generals.

Little Caesars tops the Indians 7-2

Sunday mornings match up started with Caesars taking full advantage of their power plays scoring three goals in the first period then added three more in second period before the Indians woke up when Seth Francois buried a loose puck into the net to get the Indians on the board, Jaden Martin assisted on the goal.  Less than a minute later Chase Tallaire scored on a shot over the shoulder of their netminder, set up by Max Povorozniouk to mount challenge, however Little Caesars scored their final goal to lock in the final scored of 7-2.  Gabe Rosek took the loss in net for the Indians.

The will return home to the Taffy Abel arena to face the Compuware Ambassadors on Saturday at 4pm
