Indians go 1-1 on Saturday at the Honeybaked Showcase

Saturdays opening game saw the Indians take on the York Skipjacks.  Early on the teams played even until the Skipjacks scored on a fluke goal of the Stanton that put the them up by one.  Midway through the second period the Indians convert on power play when Jeff Rahilly buried a pass from Colton Hayes with the other assist going to Garth Wickham to even the score.  In the third the skipjacks took the lead again midway through the period and held on for the win 2-1.  Dmitri Kochan was in net for the Indians.

The afternoon game saw the Indians facing the South Shore Kings from Foxborro, MA.  The Kings scored first late in the first period for the early lead.  In the second the Indians tied the game when Cody Colegrove found a loose puck off a rebound and buried it assisted by Bren Lyons.  Colton Hayes gave the Indians the lead in second until the Skipjacks knotted the score to end the second period 2-2.  Hayes scored his second of the game from Garth Wickham and Steven Cope to regain the lead, then Lyons added another from Warner Young and Cope for two goal lead in the third.  The Skipjack fought back within one but Dmitri Kochan shut the door in the net for the win in net.

The Indians will play the Boston Jr Bruins tomorrow morning

Virtual hockey doubles up on the Indians 6-3

The opening game of the Honeybaked Showcase saw the Indians match up against Virtual hockey from Philadelphia and they scored 13 seconds into the game, the woke and fought back to tie the game when Chase Tallaire scored on scramble in front of their net, assisted by Hudson Troyer.  Virtual scored two more in the first period, then added one more in the third before Jeff Rahilly scored on a nice pass from Colton Hayes to cut the lead in half.  Virtua scored two more then Troyer added a goal of his own from Cody Colegrove to make the final score of 6-3.  Alex Rairigh took the loss in net for the Indians.
The Indians now face the York Skipjacks tomorrow morning.

Indians split the weekend series with Little Caesars

This weekend proved to be a closely battled contests between the Indians and Caesars.  Saturday both teams came out hitting with a quick pace, the fist period saw the teams skate even but neither team could buy a goal.  In the second period the Indians had a 45 second lapse and allowed Little Caesars to strike for two quick goals and lead, in the third the Indians continued to attack but couldn’t score and with the net empty Caesars scored to solidify the win 3-0.  Alex Rairigh was in net for the Indians.
On Sunday the Indians opened the scoring in the first period when Cody Colegrove scored on a rebound, from Chase Tallaire and Travis Blackhurst for the 1-0 lead, Caesars came right back to even the score two minutes later.  In the second period Little Caesars took the lead midway through period for the 2-1 lead at the end of the second period.  The third period turned out to be all Indians as the they scored three unanswered goals.  First Garth Wickham scored on a power play with assists going to Spencer Samppala and Jeff Rahilly, Then Cody Colegrove scored his second of the game and the eventually game winning goal from Wickham and Cam Parrott.  Hudson Troyer added an insurance goal late in the third from Colegrove and Tallaire for the 4-2.  Alex Rairigh was in the pipes for winning.
The Indians will now be on the road next weekend traveling to Detroit for the Honeybaked Invitational Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Indians take on Little Caesars this weekend at the Taffy Abel Arena, 3pm Saturday and 10am Sunday morning. Admission is free

Meijer sweeps the Indians

Sundays rematch saw the Indians and Meijer play even through the first period with both teams getting scoring chances but couldn’t score.  In the second Meijer found the net twice for a two goal lead then added two more in the third for the 4-0 win.  Dmitri Kochan was in net for the Indians.  The Indians will regroup and work towards getting back on the winning ways when Little Caesars comes to town next Saturday and Sunday.
