Indians fall to Meier AAA

Saturday afternoons game saw the Indians fall to Meier AAA 5-0.  Meijer opened the scoring midway through the first period for 1-0 lead at the end of the first period, the Indians had several great scoring opportunities but the Meijer goaltender closed the door and they went on to score two more goals in the second period and two in the third to close out the scoring and secure the win.  Alex Rairigh took the lose in net.
Both teams will meet at 10am in the morning for the rematch and league game for the series.

Indians fall to Vaugh in the Championship game

The Indians ran into a highly skilled and ranked team in the Vaugh Kings from Toronto and it showed as they jumped out to two goal lead early before Garth Wickham scored on a powerplay in the second period assisted by Spencer Samppala and Jeff Rahilly to get back within one goal.  However from that point on it was all Kings as they scored five more unanswered goals for a 7-1 final.  Dmitri Kochan took the loss in net.  Overal the Indians finished the weekend with five wins and one loss.  The Indians will be off this coming weekend before they taken on Meier AAA on Thanksgiving weekend at the Taffy Abel.

Indians advance to the championship game with a 5-3 win over the Barrie Colts

The semi final game was a rematch against the Barrie Colts, early in the first period Parker Rutledge made a rush up the ice and put the shot over his shoulder, Jeff Rahilly assisted on the goal for a 1-0 lead at the end of the first period.  In the second period the Indians were putting pressure on the Colts and a penalty shot was awarded to Garth Wickham who made no mistake and put the Indians up 2-0.  The Indians continued to push forward and Drayke Micolo found a loose puck scoring the third goal from Spencer Samppala.  The Colts didn’t lay down and fought back with three goals of their own, but late in the period Rahilly set up Colton Hayes in front of the net for the Indians fourth goal.  Early in the third Bren Lyons scored the fifth Indians goal from Hudson Troyer to finish out the scoring for the 5-3 win.  Alex Rairigh was between the pipes for the win.

The Indians will now face the Vaugh Kings, who are currently ranked the 14th best team in Ontario in the Championship game at 430pm

Indians finish Saturday with a 6-0 win over New Liskard

Saturday’s second game was against the New Liskard Cubs and the Indians got on the board early and often as Jeff Rahilly opened the scoring from Cody Colegrove, then Garth Wickham added the second one from Colton Hayes to finish the first period up 2-0.  In the second Spencer Samppala scored from Colegrove and Warner Young, then Colton Hayes lit the light from Justin Moyle and Rahilly for a 4-0 lead through two periods.  The Indians continued their scoring in the third when Michael Chapman finished the rush with a shot over the goalies sholder unassisted and then Parker Rutledge scored on a slap shot from the point with assists to Wickham and Rahilly to close out the scoring for the 6-0 win.  Dmitri Kochan was in net and earned the shut out for the Indians.  
The Indians will now take on the Barrie Colts Sunday morning at 12 in the semi final game of the tournament.

Indians down the Pete’s 6-1

The early game of the day pitted the Indians against the Peterborough Pete’s and the Indians jumped out to a 3-0 lead, first Cam Parrott scored on a shot from point assisted by Colton Hayes and Jeff Rahilly, Bren Lyons followed up set up by Cody Colegrove.  Drayke Micolo finished off the scoring in the first period from Rahilly and Warner Young.  The Pete’s got on the board in the second period and the teams went to the dressing rooms with a score of 3-1 in favor of the Indians.  The third period was all Indians as Garth Wickham scored tipping a shot from the point by Warner Young, then Jason Kasper tipped a shot by Bren Lyons with the other assist to Michael Chapman.  Colton Hayes finished out the scoring from Colegrove and Wickham for the 6-1 final score.  Alex Rairigh was in net for the win.  The next game will be at 630 against the New Liskard Cubs.
