Indians battle to a 3-2 Shoot out win over Little Caesars

Friday night the Indians traveled to Detroit Little Caesar Arena to take on the Pizza makers in MAHA League action.  Little Caesars got on the board early scoring 1:30 into the game give them a 1-0 lead they held going into the second period, then early in the second period they scored again to add to their lead.  The Indians finally broke the ice and cut the lead to one on Colin Goff power play goal set up by Seve Litz, then less than a minute later Alex Fruend scored another power play goal from Ethan Lindle and Kyle Stevens to even the score.  Both teams battle through the third period and a 5 minute overtime to send the teams into a shoot out.  In the Shoot out Kole Altergott scored to give the Indians the advantage and Taylor White shut down all the Little Caesars players to secure the win in net for Indians.

The Indians will take on the Indy Fuel tomorrow night at 6pm in Oak Park.

Indians complete the sweep topping the Pittsburg Predators 4-2

The Final game of the Columbus showcase had the Indians playing the the Pittsburg Predators.  The Indians opened the scoring in the first period when Colin Goff finished off a nice three way pass play from Seve Litz and Kole Altergott, then Kevin Smith scored on a rebound with assists going to Ethan Chambers and Curtis Hubbard for a two goal lead at the end of the first period.  The Predators fought back to even the score at the end of two periods.  In the third period Smith scored his second of the game on tip from Chambers and Hubbard for the 3rd goal and Ethan Lindle secured the win late in the period from Kole Altergott for the win.  Taylor White stood tall in net to preserve the win.

The Indians will return to the Soo and have the I 500 weekend off before heading back to Detroit the following weekend to take on Little Caesars in MAHA League action.

Indians win two games on Saturday in Columbus

The second game of the Columbus Superseries showcase had the Indians up against the Oakland Jr Grizzilies, Kole Altergott got the Indians on the board first set up by Colin Goff and Robbie Landis for the early lead in the first period, then midway through the second period Alex Freund pick off a pass while killing a penalty going in to add to their lead unassisted.  Oakland cut the lead in half late in the period, but Altergott added second of the game tipping a shot from Gabe Fisher, with the other assist going to Seve Litz.  Oakland did add another with 32 seconds remaining the Indians held on for the 3-2.  Cam LaBadie earned the win between the pipes for the Indians.

In their second game the Indians matched up against the PHA Iceman from Pittsburg and Indians opened early with Scott Vanderhoff scoring off passes from Kole Altergott and Gabe Fisher for the early lead, then Vanderhoff scored his second from Altergott and Colin Goff to give the Indians a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period.  In the second period period the Indians added 4 more goals, Cole Peterson scored from Vanderhoff and Goff, then Ethan Lindle added one from Peterson for a 4-0 lead.  They continue to find the net as Goff scored on a rush up the ice from Altergott and Vanderhoff before Peterson added his second of the game from Goff and Altergott for a 6-0 lead at the end of the second period.  Altergott finished the scoring in the third period from Kyle Steven to secure the 7-0 win.  Taylor White stood tall in the net for the win and the shut out for the Indians.

The Indians will finish up in Columbus Sunday morning at 1145 against the Pittsburg Predators.

Indians open in Columbus with a 3-0 win

The Indians first game in Columbus Ohio had them up against the Pittsburg Vengence hockey club.  Both teams seemed to feel each other out in the first period going scoreless.  In the second Colin Goff broke the ice from Kole Altergott and Robbie Landis for the lead, then Goff added his second of the game from Cole Peterson and Altergott on a breakaway early in the third period.  The Indians added another goal at the 5 minute mark on a powerplay as Altergott capitalized from Goff and Seve Litz to secure the 3-0 lead.  Taylor White turned all of the shots he faced earning the shut out in net.

The Indians will take on the Oakland Jr Grizzilies tomorrow morning then the PHA Iceman tomorrow night.

Indians split with A21 on the weekend

Saturday both teams opened the first period feeling each other out with neither team getting on the scoreboard, in the second Colin Goff took a pass from Kevin Smith and Colin Handy, breaking down the wing and beating their netminder over the shoulder to open the scoring for the Indians.  Three minutes later Seve Litz finished off and nice three way pass from Goff and Kole Altergott to put them ahead by 2.  Midway through the third Goff added his second on the night from Altergott and 30 second later added his third of the game for the hat trick unassisted for 4-0 lead.  Taylor White turned away all the shots he faced to secure the shut out and win for the Indians.

Sunday morning Alex Fruend opened the scoring on the powerplay from Gabe Fisher and Kyle Stevens in the first period, however A21 answered back with two goals in the first period to take a 2-1 lead.  Neither team managed to score in the second period, then A21 scored short handed to give them a two goal lead ice the win for the them.  Cam Labadie had the duties in net for the Indians.

The Indians will be on the road next Thursday traveling to Columbus Ohio to compete in the Superseries tournament.
