Indians split with Bigby on the weekend

Saturday saw the Indians get back on the winning ways as they jumped out to 2-0 lead in the first period.  Kole Altergott got on the score sheet from Colin Goff and Robbie Landis to start the scoring then Landis scored on a shot from the point, set up by Altergott and Goff for the 2-0 lead at the end of the first period.  In the second the Indians added two more as Alex Fruend scored from Kyle Stevens and Gabe Fisher and Ethan Lindle finished out the 2nd period scoring from Fruend and Stevens to put them up 4-0 at the end of two period.  In the Third Colin Handy added the 5th goal from Landis and Seve Litz, the sixth goal came from a shot by Cole Peterson assisted by Fisher and Crady Coppo to put the Indians up by 6.  Bigby finally got on the board late in the third period for a final score of 6-1.  Taylor White took the win in net for the Indians.

Sundays game start much the same as Seve Litz got on the board from Colin Goff and Kole Altergott for 1-0 early lead, then midway through the second period Robbie Landis scored from Altergott and Colin Handy to put them up 2-0.  Bigby took advantage of their power play in the second period evening the score then getting the go ahead goal midway through the third period and added an empty net goal to secure the win 4-2.  Taylor White was in net for the Indians.

The Indians will now hit the road next weekend traveling to Taylor Michigan Friday night to play Belle Tire and then on to Cleveland Ohio for a pair of games against the Cleveland Barons.

Indians take on Bigby this weekend

The Indians will try to get back on the winning ways this weekend as they take on Bigby Coffee from Lansing Saturday 4pm at the Pullar Staduim and Sunday 10am at the Taffy Abel Arena

Indians Drop a pair of games to Belle Tire

Saturday facing Belle Tire the Indians got hit for 3 quick goals in the first six minutes putting them in an up hill fight which they couldn't dig out of.  After they settled down both teams played even, Colin Goff scored to get some momentum back, however Belle tire added two more for a 5-1 final on Saturday.  Cam Labadie was in net for the Indians.

On Sunday the Indians played even through the first period but Belle again jumped out to the lead.  Colin Goff scored his first of two goals off the faceoff from Alex Fruend, then Belle added two of their own before Goff stole the puck while killing a 5 on 3 penalty going in on breakaway for the Indians second goal.  From that point on Belle Tire scored again and took a commanding lead for an 8-2 final.  Labadie took the loss in net.

Indians will be back in action this coming weekend at home against Little Caesars 4pm Saturday and 10am Sunday at the Taffy Abel arena.

Goff signs a NAHL Tender with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs

Colin Goff has signed a North American Hockey League Tender agreement with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.  Colin a Wasilla Alaska native will return home to persue the next level of his hockey dreams with the Ice Dogs in Fairbanks, playing in his second season with the Indians he has scored 18 goals, 13 assists in 19 games for 31 points so far and in his first season had 16 goals, 14 assists for 30 points in 37 games.  Colin has a great scoring touch along with being a powerful skater and will continue to excel at the next level.  The Indians organization congratulate Colin on his hard work paying off and continued success.

Indians battle for 2 wins and a loss on the road in Green Bay

This weekend the Indians traveled to Green Bay Wisconsin for 3 exhibition games taking on the Green Bay Bobcats and the Janesville Jets.  Saturdays opening game had the Indians get caught in the first period as the Bobcats jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Ethan Lindle scored midway through the second from Seve Litz to start a comeback, then early in the third period Alex Freund stole a lose puck in front to get the Indians within one goal and with 7 minutes remaining in the period Colin Goff won the foot race for the puck scoring on breakaway to even the score at 3.  The Bobcats didn't quit and score late in the period and added an empty net to take a 5-3 win in the opening game.  Cam LaBadie was in the net for the Indians.

In the afternoon rematch the Colin Goff scored his first of two shorthanded goals midway through the second period then added his second less than a minute into the third on a pass from Robbie Landis.  Alex Freund got on the board from Kyle Stevens and Gabe Fisher and Ethan Lindle closed out the scoring from Seve Litz and Brandon Vernarsky for the 4-0 win.  Cam LaBadie had the win and shutout for the Indians.

Sunday the Indians took on the Janesville Jets, in the first period Kole Altergott scored from Aedan Haapala, then Kyle Stevens scored unassisted, and Seve Litz scored from Altergott and Peter Pawlanta for 3-0 lead at the end of the first period.  Janesville broke the ice in the second period, however Ethan Lindle answered back from Altergott and Robbie Landis to regain the three goal lead.  The Jets again cut the lead to two goals with three minutes left, but Alex Freund scored on the empty net to secure the 5-2 win for the Indians.  Cam LaBadie took the win in net.

The Indians will have a weekend off before getting back into MAHA league action Saturday November 13 4pm at the Pullar Staduim against Belle Tire from Detroit.  The second game of the series will be Sunday morning 10am at the Taffy Abel Arena.
