In the first of a two game series the Indians scored quick and often jumping out to a three goal lead in the first period. Landon Hubbard opened the scoring assisted by Brenden MacLaren, later MacLaren scored from Brendan Miller and Hubbard. Kyle Yates finished out the scoring in the first period assisted by MacLaren. The Indians added to their lead in the second with eight more goals, Cole Lussier opened the second period scoring on a powerplay assisted by Nick Skaluba, Hubbard scored his second midway through the second period from Brendan Miller. Mike Miller got on the board unassisted one minute later, then Blake Mastaw scored unassisted quickly from the draw, Lussier got his second on the game at the 3:35 mark from Ashton Calder. Hubbard completed his "Hatrick" from MacLaren and Yates, then Trevor Jestadt added to the lead assisted by Kristian Jackson. Cole Lussier added his third goal for his "Hatrick" with 1.9 seconds remaining in the second period from Mastaw and Calder to take the Indians to the dressing. The scoring continued in the third with Chris Hazen getting on the board from Mike Miller, then Evan Augustine scored from Hazen. MacLaren scored his second of the game to finish out the scoring from Brendan Miller to cap off the 14-0 win. Brandon Gordon took the win and shutout in the net.
Sunday's game was a bit tighter through two periods until the halfway mark of the third period when the Indians found their scoring touch. Cole Lussier scored unassisted to open the first period scoring, then Nick Skaluba scored unassisted to give the the Indians a 2-0 lead, the Electicians broke the ice late in the first to get a goal and the first period ended 2-1. In the second Ashton Calder scored the only goal assisted by Kyle Yates and the teams team went to the dressing rooms with the Indians up 3-1. Both teams played even through the midway mark of the third period until the flood gates opened and the Indians scored six unanswered goals, Lussier scored his second of the game from Blake Mastaw and Ethan St.Germain, less than a minute later Brenden MacLaren scored from Brendan Miller, Zach Satalino got on the board from Evan Augustine and Kristian Jackson. John Pesek scored from Kyle Yates and 20 seconds later Blake Mastaw scored from Pesek and Yates, Trevor Jestadt finished out the scoring from Drew Goupille to solidify the 9-1 win. CJ Boothe took the win in net.
The Indians currently sit with a record of 26 wins, 14 loses, and 5 ties. Their next action will be at the Victory Honda/Belle Tire showcase in Detroit this upcoming weekend where they will faceoff against Hill Academy from Toronto, Ontario Avalanche from California, and the number 3 ranked team in US, the Columbus Blue Jackets.
