Indians blank the Cleveland Barons 3-0 in the first game of the weekend series

In the opening period of the first game the Indians pressed the Barons and at the 6:29 mark Kyle Yates found Cole Lussier breaking down the wing and he beat the Barons goaltender to open the scoring. In the second period the Barons mounted continuos press and kept the Indians on the defense the entire period however couldn't get anything past the goaltender Brandon Gordon. In the third the Indians found their legs again 4 minutes into the period Evan Augustine picked off a cross ice pass and went in and beat their goal to put Indians up two goals. The Indians scored their 3rd goal when Alex Williams put a rebound in the top corner assisted by John Pesek. Gordon stopped all 29 shots to take the shutout and win in the net.

Both teams return to action at 10 am Sunday morning at the Pullar Stadium.

Indians fall to the Barons 3-2 in the final seconds

In the Sunday rematch the Barons jumped out to 1-0 lead early in first period and held it until 3:34 mark of the second period when Cole Lussier tied the game on a powerplay from Kyle Yates and Ashton Calder. The Barons came right back and scored late in the second to take a 2-1 lead into the dressing room. In the third the Indians had several scoring chances but couldn't convert until Blake Mastaw stole the puck while killing a penalty and setup Zach Satalino for a shorthanded goal to tie the game with the other assist going to Nick Skaluba. Just as it looked the game would end in a tie the puck didn't exit the zone and a battle ensued in the Indians crease with Barons scoring with 28 seconds to take the win. CJ Boothe played outstanding between the pipes in a losing effort.

The next action for Indians will be at home against Barons Saturday night Nov 1st 6pm at the Taffy Abel Arena and Sunday 10am at the Pullar Stadium

Indians take a 2-1 win over the Cleveland Barons

In the first game of the weekend series in Cleveland the Indians came away with a 2-1 rode win. Both teams felt themselves out in the first period and skated to a 0-0 tie in the first period. In the second period the Indians broke the ice when Evan Augustine buried a one time shot from the slot on a pass from Alex Williams to take the lead. With 33 seconds remaining in the period Chris Hazen out worked the Barons defenseman and put the puck in the net assisted by Brendan Miller and Mike Miller and the teams went to the dressing room with Indians up 2-0. In the third both teams had their chances but couldn't score. At the 12:12 a scrum broke out in the Indians crease and started a fight, after the dust cleared the Indians Goalie Brandon Gordon and the Barons player were ejected from the game. CJ Boothe came on to replace Gordon and made some spectacular saves but at the 3:00 minute mark the Barons finally got one by him. After that Boothe closed the door and the Indians took the rode win 2-1. Gordon and Boothe played outstanding in net.

Both teams square off tomorrow morning for the rematch at 10am at the Barons arena.

Indians skate to a 4-4 tie in the rematch against the warriors

In the second game of the weekend the Indians started fast and 30 seconds into the game Ethan St.Germain scored on a pass from Mike Miller. On the
First powerplay of the game Kyle Yates threaded a shot from point past the Warriors goalie assisted by Ashton Calder and Brenden MacLaren and on the next odd man advantage John Pesek scored on another shot from the point assisted by Calder and MacLaren again to open a 3-0 through the end of the first period. The Warriors came back in the second period to tie the game up at 3 all through 2 periods. In the third period both teams struggle to create any offense until the 8:32 mark when MacLaren scored on pass from Calder and St.Germain to take the lead, however the Warriors fought back and scored off a face off to even the score again. The game ended in a 4-4 tie, CJ Boothe made some outstanding saves in the net to earn the tie.

The Indians travel to Cleveland Ohio next weekend to take on the Barons.

Indians open the weekend with a 7-3 win over the Michigan Warriors

The Indians opened strong in the first period and jumped out to a 4-0 lead. Blake Mastaw opened the scoring at the 12:30 mark assisted by Cole Lussier, Alex Williams followed up and lit the lamp from Mastaw. Brenden MacLaren scored on a shot from the wing assisted by Ashton Calder and Evan Augustine finished out first period scoring from Drew Goupille and Kyle Yates. In the second period the Indians continued their offense and Mike Miller put a shot past the Warrior goalie on a pass from Lussier. The warriors broke the shut out but with 2 seconds remaining John Pesek blast a shot by their goaltender on a quick rush assisted by Mastaw and Lussier. In the third both teams scored one goal when Zach Satalino put a nice shot over the goaltenders shoulder from the slot assisted by Ethan St.Germain and Pesek. Brandon Gordon took the win in net.

Both teams return to action tomorrow at 10am.
